Accountor has entered into an agreement to acquire Deloitte’s accounting and payroll services in Sweden
Accountor aspires to strengthen its position in the Nordics. Today marks an important step on that journey, as Accountor has signed an agreement to acquire the accounting and payroll services from Deloitte’s Swedish operations.
“We are happy that Accountor’s growth journey in the Nordics continues, as Accountor has entered into an agreement to acquire the accounting and payroll services from Deloitte Sweden. Once approved by relevant authorities, this will add more than 130 consultants to our Swedish organization and will further strengthen our competitiveness and core operations, and widen our geographical footprint across the Nordics”, says Niklas Sonkin, Accountor’s Group President, and CEO.
Businesses today, face a new level of complexity with fast-pacing digitization and hundreds of new rules and regulations. This makes the role of an accounting or payroll consultant more important than ever, impacting both clients and society at large.
“Deloitte is a well-reputed organization and brand, known for its competent and skilled consultants. We share a dedication to knowledge and providing excellent service to our customers. Through this acquisition, Accountor will strengthen its core business in Sweden, which will enable us to continuously meet the demands of the world around us, while building long-lasting success together with our clients”, says Magnus Högvall, CEO of Accountor Sweden.
For Deloitte, the divest is in accordance with the company’s global portfolio strategy:
“This is a well-run business, delivering high quality accounting and domestic payroll services from professional consultants and advisors. These types of services are not part of our long-term strategy and service offering. We therefore believe that we are creating better opportunities for the development and long-term growth of this business, and for the personal and professional development of its people, by enabling it to transfer to Accountor. They are one of the leading companies in the industry with an ambitious development and investment agenda, and have values that match ours”, says Anders Rinzén, partner at Deloitte Sweden.
The acquisition is subject to closing conditions and approval by the relevant authorities.
